The clock is a hammer.
The fluorescent hum has a pitch.
Someone three rooms away is chewing.
The silence isn't empty — it's a pressure.
The chair is touching your skin in four places
and each one is now the only thing that exists.
Your brain is looking for the fire exit
because there is nothing to stay for.
